FUNCTION

ZINC COVER ZLT is a high grade, low fume, drossing-off flux for use on zinc alloys. It gives a clean efficient separation of 415-425. The use of ZINC COVER ZLT minimizes magnesium losses.

AMOUNT TO USE

0.75kg-1.5kg per 100kg of metal charged depending on the degree of oxide and dirt contamination.

RECOMMENDED APPLICATION  

1.      Charge the furnace and raise the melt temperature to 415-425

2.      Add ZINC COVERZLT and rabble thoroughly into the melt for 3-4 minutes. The degree of oxide/dirt separation is dependent on the thoroughness of this rabbling operation. To avoid ignition it is important that the melt temperature does not exceed 440.

3.      When a dry metal-free dross has been obtained, skim off with a perforated ladle and adjust the melt temperature prior to its transfer to holding furnace.

PACKAGING

50kg polythene lined steel drums.

This material contains magnesium chloride and is hygroscopic. It is essential all opened containers be re-sealed as soon as possible after use.
